A place to either post ideas about what was in Mrs. Slocombe's birthday box, or to post funny things people might have said about the box.
For example, it would have been great if Mr. Harman had come on the floor and looked in the box as well.
Here's some ideas for what he might have said:
#1 - "We could use that down in maintenance right now"
#2 - "Wow, looks like I won the bet" (They all bet on what Mrs. Slocombe's birthday present was going to be down in packing/maintenance)
#3 - "Do you mind if I borrow that when I go on holiday?"
#4 - "Blimey, I might have to switch professions."
#5 - "Mr. Grace has been asking about that for years."
#6 - "Hard to believe they actually fit it in there."
#7 - "That's DEFINITELY not allowed on the floor during working hours."
Had to keep going, these are all still just for Mr. Harman:
#8 - “I didn’t know they made those anymore.”
#9 - “If I had two of those I could retire a happy man.”
#10 - “I would have picked a different color.”
#11 - "I wouldn't take that on the bus."
#12 - "Oh, be sure to take that out once you get home."
#13 - "Whoa, now I wished I'd put a pound in to help out."
#14 - "I hear they're coming out with a new one next year."
#15 - "I thought they couldn't ship those here anymore."
Mr. Grace enters the floor with his nurse and looks into the box:
#16 - "Oh, we used to sell these in the bargain basement but we kept getting complaints."
#17 - "I bought one, but it's been on back order for six months."
#18 - "That won't last long in the board room."
#19 "You've all done very well picking out a gift like that!"
#20 - "I really needed that when I worked in the fish industry."
#21 - "Ah yes, that's the REAL reason Mr. Theobald retired (S3E1)."
#22 - "Wow, half a crown goes a long ways these days."
#23 - "Now I know what to give her instead of the cuckoo clock for retirement."
