The episode S3E6 "German Week" is certainly among my favorites. I have so many favorites that it would be very challenging to rank them in order.

I can really only make generalized statements regarding my favorite 'segments' of the show.

For example, season 5 and 7 are generally my favorite, however I have a list of favorite episodes from every season.

Both "German Week" and "Christmas Crackers" are episodes I watch often from season 3.

The first 1-7 seasons (for me) represent the first show. I am very familiar with these.

Seasons 8-10 (for me) represent a second show, separate from the first. I am less familiar with these. I say it's a 'second' show because not only were there actor substitutions, but there was a marked difference in the writing and acting of the characters for the remainder of the show compared to the first seven seasons.

When watching a complete run-through, I actually will often watch seasons 1-7, then skip to Grace and Favour. I actually enjoy G&F much more than anything in seasons 8-10 of AYBS.

One of the episodes that always felt "tacked on" to me was S7E8 "The Punch and Judy Affair". The entire episode just felt a bit "off" and out of place, like it had been thrown together at the last moment.

The episode before it ("The Agent") was excellent and would have been a great season finale. I almost think that the writers originally only had seven episodes for this season. Then at the last minute, the network told them that they needed an additional episode to fill the time slot and so they came up with an eighth episode as quickly as possible.

Any thoughts on this?
